Xi is a lesser known resort situated at the southern end of Paliki peninsula of Kefalonia (Cephalonia). Xi is dominated by one hotel, the Cephalonia Palace, which although large, is surrounded by pretty plants and trees. Aside from this hotel, there are numerous apartments dotted around the flat land behind the beach and a few shops, tavernas and bars.
Xi has a pleasantly uncommercial feel to it and families from all over Europe come to holiday in this quiet corner of Kefalonia (Cephalonia).
Xi is famous for the red sand on its beach. Along with the strange, grey alluvial deposits that characterise the landscape around the Paliki peninsula, this gives Xi a unique look.
