Atheras is the furthest village from Lixouri. It is about 4 Kms from Kouvalata and it;s a beautiful little village. On entering the village we can see 'Agia Paraskevi' churgh which has a carved wooded vestry front panel dating from the last century. On the 26th July, the name day of Agia Paraskevi, the church celebrates by holding a afestival in the main square. A narrow unsurfaced road leaves the village and leads to Athera bay. It's a very pretty bay with a sandy beach and there's a little green island in the middle of the bay which completes the traquil beauty of the scene. From the beach you can see the monastery of "Agiow Spyrithon", which dates from the last century. Two other intersesting sights are the ruins of an old olive press-building and also a ruined Venetian look-out tower.
