lixouri and generall the Palliki area are well known for their well organised programme of cultural events. The Lixouri carnival is the most important event in the winter social calendar.
During the summer the cultural committee of Lixouri in cooperation with other areas and clubs,organises a number of events. One of thesebeing the week of the Kefaloniaa sailing cup,which includes both sailing and athletic contests.
The most importantevent of the summer, however, is the international choir festival which is organised bz both Lixouri and Argostoli town councils.
For fun lovers there are Greek bouzouki clubs for all night entertainment but also for the more romantic at heart and lovers of traditional serenades there is always the
chance of finding a group of Lixourians,singing Local Kandades, while plazing quitars and mandolins.
They are to be found either strolling through the streets of sitting in small tavernas drinking wine.
